What is Cardiology?

Cardiology is the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders of the cardiovascular system--the heart, arteries and veins. A cardiologist may perform an exam that includes items such as checking your blood pressure, weight, heart, lungs, and blood vessels. Additional tests such as an ECG, x-ray, blood tests and more may also be ordered. Affinity's board certified cardiologist works with patients and their primary care physicians to diagnose and treat cardiology disorders.
