Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners

What is a Nurse Practitioner (NP)?

Nurse practitioners are certified, advanced practice nurses with graduate level degrees who provide clinical care similar to those of a physician.  NPs and their collaborating physician work as a team to provide timely and appropriate care for patients.  NPs provide a wide range of services, including physical exams, the ordering and interpreting of tests, diagnosis, prescriptions, health education, disease prevention, surgical assistance, procedures and counseling.  NPs are licensed by the state and are certified by either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American NursesCredentialing Center.

The Use of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners at our Facility

The physicians of Affinity Clinic are dedicated to providing ongoing quality care for our community. Like most physician offices around the country, we have incorporated the use of mid-level providers into our practice to meet the needs of a growing patient population. This includes physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

As part of a team approach, you may be seen by one of our qualified mid-level providers during one of your patient care appointments or walk-in visits. This helps us maintain timely access for our patients. You can be assured that each of our trained and skilled mid-level providers are closely supervised by our doctors and will provide the topnotch care you expect and deserve.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We value our patients and thank you for your continued patronage. Thanks.
